Nice cafe cum restaurant within the grounds of Mount Edgecombe House
We had 3 coffee and asked if we could only have 1 bacon roll for my dad they said this was fine but when I went to pay they charge me 15.95 -'6.95 for 1 bacon roll ----- what a rip off - I argued this but only had to young girls who did not have a clue - what a rip off , we go there every week on a Sunday with dogs , always have a drink from the shop or the cafe by the house , we went into the orangery for a change.never again daylight robbery .
I came here with my partner for afternoon tea. While it was expensive 16 each, it was worth it. The food was excellent quality and the venue was excellent.
I've visited the Orangery twice now, my first experience was for a University course's graduation ball of which I was filming. The staff were kind and respectful of my video set ups. The location was beautiful and the interior was spectacular. I loved the extras like marshmallows and sparklers in the evening as well as outdoor games. My second visit was as a customer, my partner and I ordered Afternoon tea on a busy Sunday afternoon. It was served quite quickly and looked spectacar. The gluten-free options were amazing and it all tasted incredible.
Beautiful building, much changed since my last visit and definitely for the better. Glad someone has finally made the most of the space, now looks and feels classy and cosy at the same time.Good varied menu which also caters for vegan and vegetarian. Prices not the cheapest, but you would expect that for the home cooked quality. I didn't see if they had a children's menu, so will look for that next time.Staff were friendly, will definitely be returning.
